As a professional artist and craftsperson, I am always looking for opportunities to build my skillset. Shortly after graduating Douglas Education Center, I moved to Cincinnati, OH to sculpt animatronic figures of beloved cartoons, set pieces, and parade floats for amusement parks around the world. Working in themed entertainment trained me in a wide range of mold making and sculpting techniques. In 2022, I relocated to Portland OR to work at Laika Studios on their upcoming film, Wildwood, as a mold maker in the model shop. Switching from larger-than-life to 1/6th and 1/12th scale was a fun challenge that pushed my craft.
Currently I maintain a regular practice in partnership with some longstanding Oregon arts institutions. I volunteer carving animals for The Historic Carousel & Museum in Albany and I facilitated the ongoing Life Sculpting sessions at Hipbone Art Studio in Portland. When I have the time, I teach a Portrait Sculpting Workshop at Hipbone as well.
